Happy Father-Summer Solstice combo day! On this first day of summer our thermometer dropped to 29 degrees at 8000 feet in SW CO this morning…summer did not get the memo! High pressure will take over our weather for at least a week or more and return us to the typical summer pattern of lows in the 70’s and highs in the 90’s.
Below are the latest CPC outlooks for July and seasonal outlooks through next March. As we have discussed here in the past, most impacts from El Nino do not occur until fall and winter, and as you can see, that’s when we will trend wetter than average. Don’t forget that all it takes is one tropical system to completely change these long range forecasts.
