Devilish heat indexes through Monday, then a break!

At 3pm, most locations across south-central and south Texas are experiencing heat indexes in the 100’s, with some spots in south Texas approaching 110 degrees! More of the same for Sunday and Monday before rain odds increase and high temperatures decrease from Tuesday-Saturday of next week. Thanks to the Hell High moving west on Monday, our upper-level winds will shift into the NW, allowing disturbances and a cool front to give south-central Texas and northern counties of south Texas good chances for 1-3 inches of rain. As I have mentioned over the past couple of days, long range outlooks from the CPC continue to favor better than 50/50 odds for above normal precipitation for the next 14 days.
