So, the good news is the Hell High is moving east, allowing the monsoons to start up in the west and hopefully putting an end to a horrible fire season so far. As I type this post in SW CO, we are under yet another AQ health alert from dozens of wildfires in the west. The bad news is that the high is not moving far enough east to help Texas (except far west Texas). In fact, the high’s new location will be over most of Texas and into the SE. We need to see the high drift to the NE for us to get in on the rain action again.

Speaking of rain, some of our sea breeze PM Poppers have actually dropped some very scattered but decent rainfall for some of you in the coastal plains and brush country. I see that Victoria has recorded over an inch of rain over the last 24hrs. We will continue to see a few sea breeze storms through the weekend before high pressure shuts down almost all activity next week.

Still nothing in the tropics and no long-range models forming any storms over the next 10 days.

Have a great weekend!
