Since we can’t find rain, let’s look for a Lemmon!

Thanks to two wimpy dry fronts this week, you’ll have a great chance to see and photograph Comet Lemmon. Our first front moves through on Saturday night and early Sunday morning and the second front will limp through on Tuesday. Rain odds are close to zero, but at least we will see some cooler lows with 50’s and 60’s on Monday and Wednesday morning.
Now more info on the comet…Lemmon can now be seen in the NW sky, just above the horizon, after sunset. It will be brightest from tonight through the end of the month, and possibly the brightest on October 20-21st, when it will be closest to the sun. Here is a link for more info on the comet: Comet Lemmon might be the best comet of 2025 As usual, your best odds for seeing it will be away from any city lights. I plan on photographing it probably on Monday and Tuesday and will be sharing my images with you guys. Please feel free to post any images you take on this page!
Meteorologist Eric Snitil is out with his winter forecast and I think it is the most accurate one I have seen so far over the past couple of weeks...check it out below!
My virtual weather blimp crew is loading up the blimp and heading for South Bend, Indiana for tomorrow night’s Notre Dame-USC game. I was really supposed to be there with my friend Diego, and Notre Dame graduate, but a nasty cold that I caught on my recent NY trip caused me to cancel the trip. After looking at their latest forecast, I’m not so unhappy it didn’t work out…they have a 90% chance for showers and thunderstorms during the game tomorrow night!
