From the NWS: “Daily rain chances through at least Thursday. Locally heavy rainfall and minor flooding possible. Best chances for heavy rain Monday night through Wednesday night.“

High pressure has left Texas and is now vacationing in the northern plains, along with record breaking high temperatures. With the high to our north, our atmosphere is untapped and we will see daily chances for more afternoon and evening tropical soaking storms. Much like yesterday, if your backyard gets under one of these cells, you could find several inches of rain within a short time frame. As I mentioned yesterday, the station that is located where I used to live in Helotes, recorded 6.5 inches of rain in just a couple of hours. Looking at the latest model runs, the best odds for potentially flooding rains, will be in our western counties, but any locations could see heavy rain. As is typical for most of the year, there will be rain lottery winners and losers. The good news is that rain is in the forecast through Friday, so that will give all of us a chance to have a scattered storm park itself over your location.
