While there is still a slight chance we could see some coastal and coastal plains showers and thunderstorms from what will be the remnants of Bertha, the biggest story over the next few days will be the heat and heat indexes. Highs on Wednesday will jump over the century mark for most locations and the heat indexes will approach or exceed 110 degrees. While actual temps drop a little over the next five days, heat indexes will remain the same in the afternoons.
Speaking of Bertha, here is the latest from the NWS: “Topical Storm Bertha is slightly better organized this morning and is forecast to approach the Texas coast as a tropical depression by early Friday. However, wind shear, dry air and land interaction could limit the storms organization as it approaches Texas late week.”
Stay cool!
