A front and shortwave trough are combining to spark a few scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, mainly in our NE counties. The storms are moving east, while the whole area of scattered activity is drifting to the south along the front. As the front approaches the coast, we could see an uptick of activity around sunset. While most of the rain totals so far have been less than a tenth of an inch, there could be a few small pockets of over a quarter of an inch, especially along the coast where the air is a bit more humid.

The front will give us a boost of cooler air and keep our great temperatures going Tuesday, then unfortunately, warmer than average temperatures return for later next week as we see mid 80’s return. I’m still hopeful for a pattern change later in the month, not only for Texas, but a big portion of the USA that has and will continue to be drier than normal. The latest CPC outlook for November is not promising, but the latest CPC seasonal outlook is looking wet…we shall see!
