If you had told me 24hrs ago that I would be doing a Rainfall Roundup, I would have thought you were crazy. None of the models and forecasts predicted more than a tenth of an inch for any location other than along the coast, and the threat for severe storms was minimal. I just happened to take a look at the radar yesterday afternoon and couldn’t believe what I saw! While the storms were scattered, these were big ones that eventually became severe, some dropping baseball size hail and producing some high winds. No Severe Thunderstorm Watch was ever issued, although there were lots of severe thunderstorm warnings for individual storms. Most rainfall totals were under a half an inch, but one location in Victoria County recorded over 2 inches of rain. Below are the many storm reports for hail from yesterday, with the worst in and near Portland.

High pressure dominates our weather this week. We start out mild, but by the end of the week, we will see temperatures in the mid to upper 80’s for highs.
