It's a small area, but some of you along the coast have seen over 4 inches of rain today! A stationary front is just sitting along the coast, creating a rain train today from Corpus to Matagorda. This front will slowly move back to the north as a warm front over the next 24hrs, sending some high dew points back into south and south-central Texas over the next few days.
A short-wave disturbance and trough will give us a chance for rain from Tuesday-Friday, before high pressure moves in. Unfortunately, over the past 24hrs, most of the models have lowered rain totals and odds, but hopefully, most of us will see 1/4-1 inch of rain from this system by Friday. While some of the storms will be scattered afternoon storms, there will be a chance for larger, severe storms to form along the dry line in West Texas. Some of these could turn into Mesoscale Convective Systems and drop some hefty rain totals as they move east.
Rain chances come back into the picture by next week again and the latest 6-10 and 8-14day outlooks continue to show better than 50/50 odds for above average rainfall during the period.
