From the NWS: “Flood Watch in place across South-Central and South Texas from this evening through Tuesday afternoon with pockets of heavy rainfall and high hourly rainfall rates expected at times. Monitoring additional rain and any flooding concerns along the coastal plains Wednesday into Thursday as leftover spin from the tropical disturbance in Mexico lifts northeastward along the Texas coast. Additional scattered rain and storm potential from Friday through Saturday with energy approaching from the Texas panhandle.

A fairly active radar as of post time, but most of the showers and storms are scattered. As the front to our NW sags southward tonight, we will see much better coverage tonight through Tuesday. As mentioned above, the tropical disturbance will likely give us a second round of rain later this week, especially along and near the coast…more on that tomorrow.
