Nice to see that we will be ending the month of April and beginning the month of May on a rainy note! Several disturbances will interact with our cold front over the next 36hrs before a second front pushes out the moisture on Saturday.
From the NWS: “We have issued a Flood Watch for this evening through Friday evening for portions of the Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and I-35 corridor. Multiple rounds of showers and storms, with heavy rainfall, are forecast beginning late this evening and continuing through early Friday evening. While most of the rainfall will be beneficial, there cold be high rainfall rates with some with some of these rounds of storms could lead to isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, and other poor drainage areas. In addition, there is a Level 1 of 5 risk for severe storms this afternoon through Friday. We are already seeing some strong storms developing midday across the northeast Hill Country that are capable of producing hail.
I have included more info on the system from the NWS, along with the latest model runs and drought update.
As always, please feel free to share your storm videos and rain totals in the comments…just let us know where!
