Yet another hot day out there with highs in the upper 80’s and low 90’s! A stationary front to our north will kick up a few scattered storms this afternoon, but as of post time, the best odds for any rain will stay mostly in north Texas. As mentioned yesterday, if you live along I-35 between San Antonio and Austin or the northern Hill Country, stay aware in case some scattered severe storms break the atmospheric cap later this afternoon. Hail and high wind will be the primary threat.
While there is a chance for a few scattered storms on Thursday, the main event begins Friday and will last through the middle of next week as a cool front approaches from the north and an upper-level low forms over Baja, then moves little over the next few days. This combo of the front and disturbances moving in from the west will give us our best chances for rain in months! All of the models are now forecasting 1-3 inches of rain for our region, with some pockets of 4-5 inches from Friday-Thursday of next week. I’m hoping my drought update tomorrow is the worst one we will see in a while.
