Rain chance #1 is moving in…

2-10-26. 3pm This Update is brought to you by Davy Ranch Supply. We have an extensive supply of fencing materials including barbed and netting wire, t-posts, cedar and treated posts, brace and twist pipe, staples, clips, and welded panels. We also stock 7 different types of medium and heavy-duty gates ranging in length from 4 ft-20 ft. We sell galvanized portable panels and 24 ft free-standing pipe panels, too. We have concrete and poly water troughs in various sizes along with a selection bunk and hay feeders. www.davyranchsupply.com

Our first rainmaker (hard to really call it that) is moving towards us from Big Bend, dropping some light rain around our area. As of post time, the highest total I have seen is 0.03 in NW Uvalde county. The mid-level low will continue to move eastward over the next 12 hours, giving us a chance for some light showers through tomorrow morning.

A better system (trough) moves through early on Saturday, along with a very wimpy front that will barely be noticeable, temperature wise. This system could possibly drop up to a half an inch of rain for a few lucky rain lottery winners north of a Del Rio to San Antonio line, but most of us will be lucky to see a tenth of an inch. For south Texas, consider yourself a rain lottery winner if you find a tenth of an inch of rain in your gauge.

Once Saturday’s trough moves through, we are likely to find ourselves in yet another dry spell for at least a week as high pressure parks itself over us once again. Temperatures will continue to stay above normal through that period, with highs in the upper 70’s and 80’s.
