A very pleasant day out there with temperatures in the 60’s under fair skies. Look for lows in the 40’s again tonight before we start warming up into the 80’s and even 90’s over the weekend. On Sunday, many locations will hit the low to mid 90’s as desert winds pour in from the SW ahead of a fairly strong dry cold front that will zoom through in the afternoon. I would not be surprised if a Red Flag Warning is issued for Sunday. The strong front will drive down our lows into the 30’s and 40’s on Monday and Tuesday morning and reduce our high temps to the 60’s and 70’s. For those of you in the Hill Country, there is a chance for a light freeze on Monday and Tuesday morning…I’ll have more updates on the lows expected as we get closer to next week.
Below is the latest depressing drought update. About the only thing positive is that the drought has not expanded over the past 7 days and some locations along and north of HWY 90 have seen above normal rainfall for March so far. No rain in the forecast for the next 7 days and likely not for at least 10 more days.
In other news, an early season Hell High will park itself over the west next week. Look for many record highs to fall and of course, no rainfall and snow in their forecast as well. Fortunately, Texas will be on the very eastern edge of the high, so our temperatures should only be slightly above normal.
