Thanks to the remnants of Barry moving NW into Mexico, we have lots of tropical air moving into our area, spawning a plethora of pm poppers again this afternoon! Latest radar shows quite a lot of activity in south Texas making a run for south-central Texas. Counties in the coastal plains that did well yesterday, like Karnes, are getting more rainfall today. Unlike yesterday, these storms have a better chance of making it into the Hill Country, San Antonio and Austin before going poof. And with the high PWAT values, any of these can drop a quick 1-2 inches of rain. Tuesday, the focus of the rain will be more towards the western counties and the Hill Country.
Rain chances will continue through Thursday until high pressure dries us out for at least a week and high temperature rise into the upper 90’s and low 100’s. Looking further down the line, some of the models are hinting at rain chances coming back the third week of July.
