Happy Labor Day!
As predicted, there were many of you who got some decent rain in south-central Texas yesterday, and unfortunately some of you who did not. The big winners were the San Antonio International Airport (3.11 inches), 3.95 inches just north of UTSA and 4.10 inches in northern Kendall. Most of the Hill Country saw rainfall totals of over 1/2 and inch and it was also great to see some rain fell in our SW counties and the coastal plains.
The models are shifting our best rain chances to southwest and south Texas today, but it is unlikely that we will see the 3-4 inch rains that we saw yesterday, although Kinney County remains in a Flood Watch while Maverick, Zavala, and Dimmit Counties were added into the watch through 7 pm. As of post time, there are thunderstorms in or near those counties.
There will be a slight chance for storms in south Texas tomorrow, but for the most part, we start drying up as high pressure builds in again this week. By this weekend, we could see our rain chances ramp up again as a tropical depression develops along the Pacific coast of Mexico, then veers NE into Mexico. The remnants may end up giving us some rain on Sunday and Monday.

We will be watching this system in the Pacific this week as it moves NW, then veers NE...potentially giving us some rain this weekend.
