Live from Prescott, AZ, where temps are in the 70’s with very low humidity! For south and south-central Texas, continued warm and muggy through the weekend, then a potentially wet next week. Here is what the NWS is saying: “By Monday, things start to get more interesting as southwesterly flow aloft increases and a series of shortwaves ripple through the long wave flow. This will result in several rounds of showers and storms, with locally heavy rainfall the primary concern through midweek.”
Below are the latest model runs and the latest CPC outlook, which continues to look very good for the rest of May.
The latest ENSO forecast is out and a very strong El Niño is likely to occur very soon. Here is what the CPC has to say about it: “Synopsis: El Niño is likely to emerge soon (82% chance in May-July 2026) and continue through Northern Hemisphere winter 2026-27 (96% chance in December 2026 – February 2027).
