Wow…some hefty rainfall totals have been recorded over the past 24hrs, especially along the Bexar-Comal county line where over 7 inches has fallen. A mesoscale discussion was just issued for counties in and around Bexar county for this afternoon for the chance for 1.5 to 2 inch rainfall totals per hour. The graphic is below. An approaching disturbance in Mexico is tracking east and will continue lighting up the radar over the next 24hrs. This from the NWS: “An upper-level shortwave trough to the west is currently moving across northern Mexico and will serve as a trigger for some deep convective activity beginning in the late afternoon and continuing overnight, starting around the Rio Grande and then along the southern edge of the Balcones Escarpment or US-90 corridor west of San Antonio before continuing east to the I-35 corridor and Coastal Plains overnight.”
Another disturbance moves through on Wednesday before we dry up for a couple of days. The lates CPC May forecast is out and it is forecasting a potentially wet May!
Almost 2 inches has fallen at my weather station in Helotes just today…how much rain has fallen at your place and where?
