Our upper-level shortwave is moving across southern New Mexico and will be creating a strong line of storms this afternoon and evening as it tracks SE. From the NWS: “Showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday afternoon. Strong to severe storms are possible with a Level 2 of 5 risk for mainly large to very large hail and damaging winds Tuesday into Tuesday night. Up to a Level 2 of 4 risk for excessive rain capable of flash flooding for all of South-Central Texas. Early indications suggest large areas of 1 to 3 inch rainfall amounts with isolated 5 inch totals possible by early Wednesday evening. Any additional rainfall on saturated ground will lead to increased flooding potential.”
