A couple more steamy days until we get some relief over the weekend in the form of scattered storms and some “not so hot” air. The much advertised cool front will start slipping into Texas tomorrow, then will go stationary on Saturday somewhere in central Texas. By Sunday, it will slowly move to the south, ending up in south Texas by Monday. Cooler air will be most noticeable in the Hill Country, where lows will drop into the 60’s by Sunday and Monday morning. Rain odds will be on the increase on Saturday and will hang around through at least Tuesday. As I have mentioned, this system could produce some pockets of heavy rain, but the activity will be scattered, so as usual, there will be rain lottery winners and losers. Best odds for rain will be in our northern counties and the Hill Country.

As far as the tropics go, we are watching a tropical wave off the coast of Africa that has a 20% chance for becoming a storm in the next 7 days. The long-range tropical forecast is looking more bullish September 10th-16th.
