You know the weather is boring when all you can talk about is a short lived Saharan Dust event! As an asthmatic, I always dreaded these waves of dust because the particles are so small, they really do a great job aggravating the lungs and eyes. Fortunately, based on the latest model info, this one should reach its peak today and wind down by Wednesday.

We could see our high pressure drift a little north by the weekend, allowing some sea breeze pm poppers to start forming in the afternoons. If these do form, the best odds for rain will be in the coastal plains. Further out, the latest CPC outlooks are now forecasting mainly even odds for drier or above normal rainfall over the next two weeks. Given that July is one of our drier months, unless we see something tropical form, rain chances will likely remain low. The latest NHC forecast is not showing anything forming in our area over the next week.
