It’s fun to be working on this post up in the mountains of SW Colorado with thunder roaring in the background from scattered storms this afternoon as most of Texas is seeing the same scenario play out. Yesterday’s afternoon storms didn’t get the memo that they were not supposed to arrive until today, with some of you seeing ½ to 2 inches of rain! Current radar shows more PM Poppers building up as I type this post with another line of sea breeze storms moving up from the coast. Such will be the case tomorrow, then an even better chance for rain on Friday and Saturday as the upper-level low over Baja moves NE. Even though the track will stay to our north, there will be enough energy available to spark scattered storms with potentially heavy rainfall. As has been the case all week, I would not take the models too seriously on where they are forecasting rainfall as this will a situation where pockets of over 2 inches of rain can fall in one place and zero in another on any given day.
